Sports Card Trade Nights in Edinburg, TX: What to Expect

If you collect sports cards in the Rio Grande Valley, you've probably heard about the trade nights at RGV Elite Comics & Collectibles in Edinburg. These events have become a regular fixture in the RGV card community, here's what they're all about and how to get involved.

What Is a Trade Night?

A trade night is an informal event where collectors bring their cards (or comics, Pokémon, whatever they collect) to the store and spend a few hours buying, selling, and trading with other collectors. There's no entry fee, no tournament structure, just a room full of people who love the hobby connecting with each other.

At RGV Elite, trade nights typically run in the evening. Collectors set up at tables inside the store, spread out their cards, and get to work. You'll see everything from high-end sports card rookies and autos to bulk commons, Pokémon binders, and comics.

Who Shows Up

Our trade nights draw collectors from across the Rio Grande Valley, Edinburg, McAllen, Mission, Pharr, Weslaco, and beyond. You'll find:

• Sports card collectors focused on baseball, basketball, football, and other sports
• Pokémon card players and collectors
• Comic book collectors
• Casual hobbyists and newer collectors just getting started

The events are welcoming to everyone regardless of experience level. If you're new to collecting, a trade night is one of the best ways to learn fast, you'll be surrounded by experienced collectors who are usually happy to share knowledge.

The 956 Sports Card Show Connection

RGV Elite has partnered with the 956 Sports Card Show, one of the biggest card shows in the Valley. We've hosted pre-show trade nights right at our store, which means even more collectors come through ahead of the main event. If you follow the local card scene, keeping an eye on our events calendar is worth it.

What to Bring

• Your trade binder or cards you're looking to sell or trade
• Cash (many sellers prefer cash for quick transactions)
• A list of cards you're hunting, other collectors may have exactly what you need
• An open mind, you often end up finding things you weren't looking for

Between trade nights, come by the store any day Tuesday through Sunday from noon to 7 PM. We carry sports cards, Pokémon, trading card games, comic books, and Funko Pops, and we buy and trade every day.
